Brookstone Member Club of the Year!

The Brookstone Meadows Tennis Club was named USTA South Carolina Member Club of the year! What a fantastic honor for Brookstone, a club which is barely 2 years old. With over 20 USTA adult teams, combo teams, seniors and super seniors, including annual representations at the State Championships, Brookstone is a prime place for adult league play! As far as the junior program is concerned, Brookstone is the headquarters for USTA Junior team tennis in the upstate. Leading an outstanding Junior program, Brookstone attracts the best juniors in the area. With Nationally ranked juniors and a successful path leading to College tennis, Brookstone already counts 4 College tennis players including this year’s graduate Josh Rumph who is now playing for the Citadel. Owner of the Brookstone Meadows tennis club Dr. Sophie Woorons-Johnston is an icon in the tennis world as National Recreational Coaches Trainer for the USTA and Cardio Tennis Speaker. A former All-American for Clemson University and World ranked Tennis player, Sophie was also nominated the South Carolina Female player of the year after she lead the South Carolina 35 and up team to Southern Champions this past June. Congratulations Brookstone!  Brookstone Meadows, an upscale golf and tennis community located behind Bosch on 81 in Anderson, SC.   Dr. Sophie Woorons-Johnston earned her PhD in Sport Pedagogy from the University of Georgia. All-American for Clemson University and Former World-Ranked WTA player. Sophie now owns and manages the Brookstone Meadows Tennis Club in Anderson, South Carolina. She is a USTA Recreational Coach Workshop National Trainer and a member of the National Cardio Tennis Speakers Team. Recently, Sophie with the USTA South Carolina won the Southern 35's Championships!
